4 Ingredient- Homemade Bagel Recipe….Macro Friendly!

Macros per bagel:

•about 250 calories

•fat: 0.9g

•carbs: 40.4g

•protein: 18.2g

These bagels are….

•butter and sugar free

•only about 40 minutes to make

•less hassle

•best toasted it as a sandwich!

Recipe:

*makes about 9 normal/medium sized bagels

•Heat oven to 375 degrees F

•Mix:

-4 cups whole wheat flour

-4 tbsp baking powder

-2 tsp salt

•Add in 4 cups 0% fat Greek yogurt to mix & knead until it reaches a doughy consistency. This will require your hands to get a bit dirty!

There’s two types of bagels I’ve made recently…this is where it gets fun & you can add what you want!

My everything bagel:

•I sprinkled in some allspice into the dough for a little flavor, but you could even do garlic powder, paprika, etc….

My pumpkin/cinnamon bagel:

•pumpkin spice seasoning & cinnamon….you could even add in some pumpkin…

•Put in dough bowl with a damp towel to cover – leave for about 10 minutes

•while you’re waiting 10 minutes, flour a surface to knead dough & crack an egg to make some egg wash.

•Roll dough into balls

•twirl finger through the dough until a bagel hole is formed

•Add to a parchment paper sheet, wash bagel in egg wash and cover with everything bagel seasoning, brown sugar, or whatever seasoning you chose.

•Bake for about 25 min
