•Glycogen, which is stored in the muscles, is the fuel source we MUST restore after training. Muscle glycogen is the fuel source used during aerobic exercise.
•To replenish glycogen, it is important to consume carbohydrates as soon after exercise as possible.
•You should actually be consuming both carbs & proteins after a workout to restore your body & feel energized rather than bogged down for the rest of the day.
•Smoothies provide us with lots of healthy carbs, enable us to incorporate some protein, and are able to be consumed on the go, in the car, or while doing chores around the house.
•For me, smoothies are the easiest thing to make in order to restore carbs & proteins & they are so yummy. Not only are they good for restoring proteins and glycogen, but the fruit & juices are amazing for your skin, digestion, and mood.
•See my newest smoothie recipes; one with no protein powder, and one with a vegan protein powder from FNX that I genuinely love. It doesn’t bother my stomach, it’s easy to digest & it’s both dairy/gluten free. Use my code to save you some money.
